iPhone 5S has one of the best cameras among smartphones, but Apple may be taking things to a more advanced level with the next generation.
Chinese technology website IT168 has reported that Apple will use a 10MP camera in the upcoming iPhone 6. Apple has restricted its devices to 8MP cameras since 2011, including the latest models - iPhone 5S and 5C.
The news is that this camera module is to have an aperture of f/1.8, better than the f/2.2 of iPhone 5S. Sony Xperia Z1 and HTC One have the lowest aperture size in the market right now. The smaller the aperture, the sharper the image, thus the reduced sensor size would lead to clearer photos.
Apple continued to use 8MP cameras while rivals like Samsung and LG used 13MP cameras in top smartphones. Nokia and Sony made use of 41MP and 20.7MP cameras in their top cameraphones.
The gadget giant is said to be working on two versions of iPhone 6 - one with 4.7-inch screen and other with 5.7-inch display and it is expected that the next iPhones will have scratch-proof sapphire display panels and solar charging.
