IPL Auction 2014 Marquee 1 & 2




  1. Murali Vijay: Sold for Rs5 crore to Delhi Daredevils (Base price Rs2 crore).
  2. Mahela Jayawardena: Unsold (Base price Rs2 crore).
  3. Kevin Pietersen: Sold for Rs9 crore to Delhi Daredevils (Base price Rs2 crore).
  4. Yuvraj Singh: Sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs14 crore (Base price Rs2 crore).
  5. Jacques Kallis: Sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs5.5 crore (Base price Rs2 crore, right-match-card used).
  6. Virender Sehwag: Sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs3.2 crore (Base price Rs2 crore).
  7. David Warner: Sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs5.5. crore (Base price Rs2 crore).
  8. Mitchell Johnson: Sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs6.5 crore (Base price Rs2 crore).
  9. George Bailey :sold to Kings XI Punjab for 3.25 crocr(base price Rs.2 crore)
  10. Darren Sammy is next. Base price is Rs 1 crore. Delhi Daredevils are the frontrunners in going for the West Indies all-rounder. They make a bid of Rs 3.5 crore. They get him, but Sunrisers Hyderabad use their ‘Right to Match’ option for him.s next. Base price is Rs 1 crore. 
  11. Faf du Plessis is next up. Base price is Rs 1.5 crore. Mumbai Indians are trying to get their first player in the auctions. They have been left behind by some of their rivals. Delhi Daredevils have entered the race and they bid Rs 4.75 crore. They get him, but Chennai Super Kings use their ‘Right to Match’ option.
  12. Dinesh Karthik is next. Base price is Rs 2 crore. There is interest for him as he is one of India’s best wicketkeeper-batsman after MS Dhoni. Delhi shock everyone by a bid of Rs 10.5 crore, but at the last second Kolkata up that.Delhi then get him for Rs 12.5 crore.
  13. Berndon McCullum is next up. Base price is Rs 2 crore. Chennai bid Rs 2.8 crore.  The bidding is rising and then Chennai get a bid of Rs 3.25 crore. The hammer goes down and Chennai get their man.
  14.  Michael Hussey is the next  Base price is Rs 2 crore. Mumbai Indians get a bid of Rs 5 crore and they get him for that price. Their first player in the IPL 2014 auctions.
  15. Amit Mishra is next up. Base price is Rs 2 crore. There is a lot of interest for the leg-spinner as his record in the IPL is as good as anyone. He is sold for Rs 4.75 crore to Delhi. But Sunrisers Hyderabad use thier ‘Right to Match’ option.
  16. Zaheer Khan is the last player in the Marquee 2 list. Base price is Rs 1 crore. Mumbai bid Rs 2.6 crore. And he is sold for that price to the Mumbai Indians.
