The Students of Delhi University have been enjoying their fest season, with lots of star performers coming to the capital to perform at different colleges. But on Wednesday evening, things took an ugly turn at Ullas, the annual fest of Kamala Nehru College, when singer and rapper Hard Kaur was asked to leave the college midway through her performance.
She arrived at the college at 7.20pm, more than 2 hours later than the scheduled time of 5pm and started off with some of her popular songs like 'Party Abhi Baaki Hai' and 'Lucky Boy' among others. While she was interacting with the crowd throughout, she said some performing statements in Punjabi and English, but problems started when she started saying things like, "Men have enjoyed naked women for far too long. It's our time now." After this, she got some of the dancers from her group to come and show their abs asking the girls to enjoy. Her language throughout the evening had a lot of bad words in it. This made the event manager ask her to cut it down.
Finally, at around 8pm, a faculty member got on to the stage and asked the students to leave. They announced that the program was over and Hard Kaur was escorted off the stage by the bouncers of the event. She was visibly pissed according to those present, and she was arguing with the bouncers and the event managers before she left in anger.
A student at the event said, "She was using words like b******d and f*** all the time very casually. This obviously did not go down well with the teachers. Everyone was saying she looked drunk too. When the event manager tried to tell her to watch her language, she asked him to f*** off too."
When asked about the incident, Hard Kaur said, "I'm completely shocked. I don't know what the problem was. They ended the show saying it was a time problem as they only had permission till eight." She condemned the usage of foul language and said, "It was a very casual performance. Everyone in the audience was enjoying, the girls especially were having a great time. I don't know what the fuss was all about."
